Tips to help small businesses thrive in times of uncertainty
COVID-19 has fast become the most significant threat imaginable to all businesses, especially the small ones. Due to the pandemic, it is safe to assume thriving businesses now have a growing concern of the economic disruptions to come and one goal in mind – maintain profitability and remain stable.
In a time of crisis, how can our actions have a positive impact on the businesses we touch (including our own)?
Be there, have compassion
In unprecedented times like these, go above and beyond for your clients and try to deliver even more than the agreed-upon expectations. We at Atteline are committed to the ongoing success of our clients, guiding them step by step, all the way through. In such hard times, we know it’s crucial to be proactive and plan ahead, to be there for our clients before they even ask for it. At the end of the day, our end-goal is to be the trusted advisors to our clients, especially small businesses that need support from their partners, now more than ever.
Stay agile
Rule number one when it comes to crisis management is team productivity. Having a team that is able to work in unison and across multiple areas of the business will not only help make your business more efficient but will also provide each team member with the opportunity to build skills in other areas of the business and knowledge on how to tackle all types of challenges.
Keep your emotions in check
We all have the pandemic on our minds, continually processing what is and what might be. However, as PR experts, we should set the mood, be realistic about the situation, but most importantly stay positive in the face of clients. Of course, it is natural to feel worried during this time, so allow yourself the space to vent to friends and family, however, leave this at the door when it comes to work. If you are the head of the company, ensure you are providing employees with accurate and up to date information, while including positive messages to keep the team motivated, especially when employees are working remotely.
When it comes to uncertainty, we may not always be able to control the outcome, but we can control our reactions towards it. So stay resilient and thrive in the face of challenges as this is not forever and we will all bounce back..
